NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Prescott could return within 4-6 weeks, a better timeline than the original prognosis of 6-8 weeks.

The new timeline could have Prescott back for an Oct. 16 clash against NFC East rival Philadelphia in Week 6.

Cooper Rush will start in Prescott’s absence.

Prescott was hurt late in Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
